BEAR HOLLOW
He must have come by ice He resided in the Baltic woods Will Champion saw him twice. Bill was just a young boy A half mile from home Where he was picking blueberries And he was there alone. He saw this big black bear And he thought he'd better run. He went home and got his father To come and bring the gun. So they were being cautious They didn't know where he'd be But down in a little hollow He was curled up in a tree. The tree had been broken off And it was a sunny spot The bear never knew what happened After John Champion fired the shot So now it is called "Bear Hollow Since it met with its defeat How happy the people must have been Before some innocent person got eat.
