2026 Municipal Election Information
The next general municipal election for the Rural Municipality of Malpeque Bay will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Residents will elect a Mayor and six Councillors to represent the municipality.
Interested in Running for Municipal Council?
The nomination period for the 2026 municipal election runs from October 7 to October 16, 2026.
Eligible residents interested in running for Mayor or Councillor must complete a Candidate Nomination Form. Candidates require the signatures of 10 eligible voters on their nomination form.
Completed nomination forms must be submitted during the nomination period at the location and times identified in the Notice of Nomination.

Voter Information
To vote in a PEI municipal election, you must:
be a Canadian citizen;
be at least 18 years of age;
have lived in Prince Edward Island for at least six months before election day; and
be ordinarily resident in the Rural Municipality of Malpeque Bay on election day.
Electors must bring identification or documents showing their name and address when voting.
